Asher Update
We visited the doctor today and it was the worst doctor's visit yet. Asher was mad from the second we took him into the room and let us know the entire time there and all the way home. Well, to be fair, the ride home was probably because of the 3 shots he got. Poor baby. I hate shot visits! Not vacinating has crossed my mind simply for the fact that those parents don't have to have shot visits. They may have measles, polio and a myriad of other visits, but no shot visits for them. Anyway...Asher is now 23 lb and 34 in. That is 10-25% in weight and 90% in height. In other words, just like his mama was. We are having a heck of a time with diaper changes. He kicks and kicks and kicks. He has spent a bit of time in the crib and hopefully he will soon make the connection between kicking mama and spending some quality time in his crib. All is well here, hope all is well there!

Christmas with the Lunde's
We had a good Christmas. No throwing up baby this year (wahoo!), but he was a cranky, fevery boy all day. I think he had a quick virus run through his system. Other than that we had a great day! Nana, Granpapa, and Unc Quinn came over around 8:30 and the day of fun began! Asher got spoiled (next year it is "Something you want, something you need, something to play with, something to read and something for someone in need."). His favorite gift by far was the ride-in tugboat from Nana and Granpapa. Little Tykes doesn't make them anymore so Mom tracked a used one down on ebay (good job for buying used!) and sat a the computer until she won it. It is the first and last thing he plays with everyday. Asher likes knocking down the towers Dada makes and walks around the house shaking his maraccas! He also got books galore (I have to admit that I went overboard there)! We really loved everything we got and are blessed to have families who are generous with us. We hope everyone had a blessed day and can't wait to see/talk to you all soon!

Wow...it has been way too long
I have been a bad, bad blogger and I am going to correct the error of my ways. I promise. We have been busy. Life with an almost 17 month old is nothing if not interesting. Asher is a crazy crasher man! He is into everything and is showing his independence like mad! Right now he is trying to put on Mike's slippers and having a time of it!
He has a vocab that I think would impress a speech therapist. His new thing is saying "It's gone" when he has eaten everything and asking us to read books. He brings us the book he wants, says "book", turns around and heads to the reading chair and says "OK". It's really cute, until he wants you to read Brown Bear for the 10th time in 3 hours! His favorite book is Moo, Moo, Brown Cow and he asks for it by saying "Moo, moo?". I love that he reads, but will admit that there are books that has been "lost" after reading them time and time again!
We are continuing to make ecologically friendly lifestyle changes. We now use only cloth napkins and Asher is in cloth diapers almost full time. I hope to have him in cloth diapers full time soon after the new year. I need some easier ones for Mom and Aunt Karen (I need to talk to her about this-note to self) for Mondays and Fridays and some more absorbant ones for nighttime. I tried overnights once and it was a soaking wet failure! Also, I am making most of our cleaning supplies. It is amazing what you can do if you research. I have found that all of our changes have also been easy on the pocket book. Who would have guessed that committing to going green could save you money! This spring we are going to get a compost bin for our back deck. I will be nice to have somewhere other than our disposal to throw scraps and we will have some nice soil someday for growing yummy strawberries!
We are also taking this challenge for Christmas. Most of the gifts we are giving will be made by myself. I have been scouring the internet for great projects and I think I have found some really good ones. I am so fortunate that I am creative and crafty. I love having a project going. Right now I have about 10 going, so that is a little overwhelming, but I have it under control (I think).
If you have been wondering what to get Asher for Christmas, here is a list of things Asher might be into this coming year.
I'll leave you with the promise that I will post more often. I forget that it doesn't take as long as I think it will. Here are some pictures from the fall. I can't believe it is almost winter!

Sorry, sorry, sorry
I am sorry it has taken me so long to get something new up...but at least I am not as bad as Dan! Life here has been busy, busy, busy. Mike is now finished with Summer School and is only working at the Cloudveil store. He is there 3 days a week (Tues, Wed and Fri) so we have lots of family time. I am planning on a Mommy afternoon someday soon. I plan to kick the boys out of the house so I can have litte time to be alone (I have not been alone for more than 45 minutes in over a year). I promise to post more tonight. Have a great day!

What we've been up to
Life has been a little busy for us here. Mother's Day Asher, Mike and I hung around the house in the morning and then went out to Signal Mountain Lodge with Mom, Dad and Quinn for a late lunch/early dinner. There is still so much snow up in the park and the ice is still thick on Jackson Lake. Last weekend we went to Casper for State Track and had a great time. It was nice to be in flip flops and for Asher to be in short and t-shirts. Asher is the best at wearing his gafitas (sunglasses) and sun hat. We get lots of comments from people on how well he keeps them on. This weekend we head out to Uncle Josh and Aunt Lauren's. We will see a Met's game and hopefully get to the zoo.
As you can see, Asher does not harbor warm feelings for the grass yet. Hopefully as the warm weather continues he will outgrow his dislike and distrust of that weird green stuff.

I like to move...
Asher went for his first ski this past week. He and Mike skinned part way up Snow King and skied down. I think he liked it-I know Mike loved it. We will be getting a backpack so Mike and Asher can do more Daddy/Asher things like this. Right now we are researching which one is best...anyone know what Consumer Reports says? It will be nice to have one so we can take hikes, long walks up Cache Creek, go to State Track, ect...
We will probably go for a bike ride tomorrow. The road from Moose to Jenny Lake is open to non-motorized vehicles and we are thinking we will take the bikes and the Chariot up there. First we have to make a stop at KMart for a helmet for the little man. I sure hope he likes the bike/Chariot because we plan on using it all summer. One of the nice things about Jackson is the bike path system. We can go almost anywhere with the bikes. Two summers ago we road our bikes everywhere and are hoping to repeat that this summer.
We went for a family walk this afternoon. I am not sure how warm it was, but it was warm enough for us to get out without hats and snowsuits! We walked down South Park Loop Road and saw lots of birds. Asher seemed to like the Mei Tai and I liked it better than wearing him in the Bjorn. My back can't take his weight on the front now that he is a whopping 17 pounds (okay, we know he is skinny, but look at his mom and dad-the kid is never going to be an offensive lineman!).
He is also crawling all over the place and is currently knocking the blocks over as fast as Mike can build them up. Hope all is well with everyone.

The latest...
Yesterday was one for the record books. Asher has been pulling himself up on everything (unfortunately for him not very well) and managed to fall into the entertainment center and pull a chair down on him all in an hour's time. Yikes! The first time I turned away to do something and the next time I was getting food ready for him. Fortunately there were no bruises. Later he hit himself in the mouth with his hammer-but recovered from that quickly. He woke up from his afternoon nap screaming and it took me about 20 minutes to calm him down...I don't know if he had a bad dream or what, but it was rough on the poor guy. So far today we are doing better. Oh, and we are getting ready for baseball season...Hope all is well.

New pics.
Some of my favorite things
I just used two of my favorite kitchen items and it inspired me to write this post. So here is a list of my current things...
My Le Cruset pot-everything cooks better in it...slowly I will build up my collection.
My Quisinart food processor-so easy to make baby food in and Asher loves the results!
Seasonal dish towels, but not the cheesy type. Anything Tag puts out I like.
My new OXO can opener-I can actually open a can without cussing at the opener! A much better product than my last one.
The month of February-It is my birthday month, no more explanation necessary!
Of course my boys, but that goes without saying.
Just wanted to put into writing some of my favorite things. Hope you all are good.

Where do I begin...
First, I am sorry it has taken me months to post anything new. I guess the creative juices have been flowing in other directions...you should see the boxes I made for our new bookshelf! The holidays were good. Mike and I feel like we were cheated out of Asher's 1st Christmas, though. The poor guy puked and slept all day. We need to pose some "Christmas pictures" and when we do that I will post them. But here is one of Asher on his present from Santa. I don't know who likes the scooter best, Mike or Asher.
Asher has really started to move these last two weeks. He can push/pull himself across a room towards something we don't want him into in 0.3 seconds! And if Asher is not scooting he is rolling all over the place. I think I need to go buy a new pair of running shoes because the days of putting him in one spot and him staying there are long gone!
Asher has also started on some solids, but thus far all we can get him to "open up for" are pears. If I trick him he will keep sweet potatoes in his mouth. Today we are going to try mangos and if that does not go well we will head over to peaches. My new philosphy is to find what he really likes and start him there and then add the things he is on the fence about. As you can see the squash is not quite the hit I was hoping it would be!
At Asher's last doctor's visit he was 15lb 5oz (a skinny boy reaching the 35th percentile!) and 28.5 inches long (95th percentile)! Since his car seat only goes up to 29 inches it was time for a new one. With the help of Grandma Cindy and Grandpop Carl and Grandmom Trang (we used Christmas money) we got Asher a great new carseat. Mike and I ordered the Britax Diplomat and Asher seems to really like it. I can't believe that he is so big! Time flies...
